The Taco Bell Graduate to Go program and the Mark Wahlberg Foundation held a ribbon cutting this morning to showcase the renovated Subculture Studios; one of four studios that will be a part of the program.

After about a month of reconstruction, the studio has come together very elegantly. It features a refashioned layout, new cameras, computers, chairs, sound booth and a redesigned green screen stage area.  Our members have the continued, amazing opportunity to work in a state of the art sound stage and make professional quality audio recordings, all for just the price of a Boy’s and Girl’s Club membership!

Today’s grand opening began when Mark Wahlberg arrived at the Boys & Girls Club of the Los Angeles Harbor and spoke in a panel alongside Tabitha Sanchez, a Taco Bell Graduate to Go intern, and Tony Tripp, the director of operations for the BGC L.A. Harbor. The panel was hosted by Bob Fulmer, executive director of the Taco Bell Foundation, who emphasized the importance on having the right guidance for gifted teens, with an interest in the multimedia and performing arts.

“All of these programs such as music, film, and animation hits the heart of what they love. The new studio curriculum gives the students real-world examples of what they have interests in, creating a career path for teens.”

Wahlberg was then given a tour of the new studio by Jeremy Diaz, a studio intern turned staff this past summer.

At the end of the day everyone involved got to witness a new beginning for Subculture Studios and it’s prospective students. We would like to thank Mark Wahlberg and the Taco Bell Graduate to Go Foundation for making this possible!
